Watercoloring

Are you an experienced watercolourer?

Looking to try the technique for the first time?
It's not as hard as it looks!

This week, the Design Team is playing with watercoloring.
A few of us are experienced in the technique and some have barely gotten our toes wet (ha, ha).

Here's what's happening...

Tracie has watercoloured her Dainty Dragonflies. Cutting them out with the matching die set makes dragonfly wreaths like this super easy to create!

Lisa has also used watercolouring on her image. This gorgeous project uses Daisies in Boot.

Irit has watercoloured her background on this elegant creation. Stamps used in this card include Live, Dance, Love and the  Flowers 2 clear set.

Last project of the day, Heather has created this masterpiece. Background is done with Hibiscus 2 in versamark prior to applying the watercolour. The sentiment oval comes from Scalloped Circles and Ovals 4 - Floral, with the sentiment from Build an Umbrella. The Build an Umbrella die set and Scalloped Oval Die set were also used.

What a great variety of projects today! I hope you enjoyed our creations and hope you'll come back again and check us out.

Vintage Viewpoint

Welcome to this weeks Vintage Viewpoint where we take a look at some of the older options in the Prickley Pear inventory.

We just recently finished our May New Release on the blog and there were a number of great bird stamps released.

Like this Large Birdhouse (also available in a small size) or Momma and Baby Bird.

These stamps join several other bird themed options already in the Prickley Pear catalog. And that's why today I devote our Vintage Viewpoint to the Birds of Prickley Pear.

Let's start out with another Bird with Birdhouse.

Or this pretty Songbird.

This is Black Capped Chickadees, but I think it's been adjusted into a pretty spring bluebird!

And finally, this Owl with Bird makes a perfect pair!

Looking back on these creations makes me want to dig out my craft supplies! Not to mention order a few of these for my own collection - which one first? Owl with Bird or Songbird?

You find these and many more feathered friends in the Prickley Pear store.

Don't forget to come find us on our Prickley Pear Facebook page and we'll see you next week with our Team Inspiration!

Lovely Lace

Welcome to Tuesday at the Prickley Pear blog where we take our theme of the week and let lose our creativity.

This week, we're working incorporating Lace into our designs.
Lace is the perfect accent for Prickley Pear cards, since it's classic and elegant, just like many of the Prickley Pear images.

Check out with the Design Team did with the Lace challenge.

Irit leads off with this pretty card using Love Swans. Don't they look awesome in blue? The sentiment is from Heart Key Crown.

Heather has added a lace knot to her card. Background panels use images from both Hot Air Balloons (diamonds) and the Coffee Cup Clear set (beans). Images and sentiment also come from the Coffee Cup clear set, along with the matching die set. Finally, the background has been stamped with Coffee Stain

And our final card today comes from Lisa. She's added a pretty lace border to this card, also using the Black Eyed Susan Border and Memory Becomes a Treasure sentiment.

Just lovely! Three great cards, three great looks...and all using lace!
